Japan Appeal
• Club News: The Disaster Hitting Japan
As we went to press we were hearing shocking news of the earthquake, tsunami and subsequent radiation danger that struck the north of Japan during mid-March. We appealed for donations to be sent to the British Red Cross who immediately set up a disaster fund. Since then Rotary International (who Glyn is involved with) has received an urgent appeal from Japan for Shelter Boxes – so we are actively engaged in raising money for this. Glyn Madden is playing concerts and at shopping centres in support of the appeal and, if you are able to make a donation please send a cheque (payable to The Rotary Club of Drone Valley) to: the Yamaha Club office at:
Yamaha Club Ltd.

We’ll make sure it reaches the disaster fund. Alternatively, you can donate online direct to Rotary International. Every little helps and we thank you very much for any support you’re able to give.
Members Area
Our old archive contains a wealth of material dating back many years and our new archive is being updated and added to all the time. The password to the Members’ Area where the archive is stored changes each time a new edition of the magazine is published – and, sometime during 1st April, it will change to the one provided on page 4 of the April/May 2011 edition. Until a new password takes over, however, the current one remains effective. To enter the ‘Members Area‘ just type the relevant password into the box provided. The new password must be entered in upper or lower case characters (exactly as shown in the magazine).

The sound of the big string orchestra is currently enjoying renewed popularity thanks to Andre Rieu and his orchestra.
