Genos Operating System

  • Since our last edition in August there’s been another firmware update for Genos. As before, we can help download this for non-techie subscribers.

We also look at some other useful downloads that are available free of charge from the Yamaha website. Downloads: See magazine for more information.

Our first Genos O.S. workshop this month is a short course on basic sequencing, in particular step-recording chords (which is easy to do and produces great results).

In the second workshop, ‘Registration Builder’ we’re creating some James Last ‘Hammond A-Gogo’ style registrations (and subscribers can send for the full set free of charge along with an mp3 audio demonstration).

  • Tyros Operating System

  • In response to a letter from one of our readers who had lost all his Music Finder song list, our first workshop for Tyros O.S. instruments shows how to back up the list.

The second workshop is about play-along MIDI/Song files… and how to change the pitch of the on-screen score to an easier key.

In ‘Music Chef’ we make some more of the James Last ‘Hammond A-Gogo’ style registrations that we created for Genos. (Subscribers with Tyros5 can send for the full set free of charge along with an mp3 audio demonstration).
